Tom McPherson

Tom McPherson (T: @tommcph) grew up in Canberra and Sydney, where he now lives. He had no connection to farming or rural industries growing up, but gained an interest in agriculture throughout high school and is now studying an undergraduate degree in Science (Agriculture) at Sydney University, majoring in Plant Production and Finance.

In the last few years he has developed an interest in agricultural innovation and technology, working with several startups, and currently works with Farmbot Monitoring Solutions. In 2022, Tom was awarded an AgriFutures Horizon Scholarship, sponsored by the AgriFutures Innovation Program.

He is passionate about using these experiences to contribute to technology solutions that are producer oriented, and helping to connect people from all backgrounds to agriculture, food and rural communities.
