Emma Bond
Emma Bond (I: @madiandpip) was born and raised on a farm in regional NSW. Whilst completing her high school studies in Dubbo, Emma used her school holidays to study fashion in Sydney – the first of many courses in this field. In 2013 Emma began teaching fashion and in 2015, she received the Wool 4 School (national) Teacher Award. In 2020, she was one of seven designers selected nationally to participate in QUT’s Fashion Accelerator program, launching her fashion label Madi & Pip. Inspired by three remarkable women, Madeleine Simmons, Madeleine Jondeau & Philomena Simmons; Madi & Pip uses fashion as a vehicle to start conversations and spread joy! This luxury Australian made label offers fabulously functional fashion; that is inclusive to a range of abilities without compromising aesthetic or planet.
Mentored by Clare Press & Mariella Osthus; Emma’s designs were featured at The Calile Hotel’s Boutique in 2020. In 2021 her design was a National Finalist in the Myers and Victoria Racing Fashions on Your Front Lawn (Melbourne Cup) Emerging Designer category. Emma is passionate about representation and fashion design for people with disability, and promoting our local cotton industry as the natural, biodegradable fibre of choice for fashion design. This year she has been selected as a 2022 Australian Future Cotton Leader.
